Joyance Partners – Investing in IDUN Technologies, the story behind. Answers provided by Investment Partner Neha Tanna, Chief Operating Partner

Connecting individuals, as well as using tech to allow humans to understand themselves better to drive improved health ‘and happiness,’ is the ethos of our fund. This immediately resonated with us, and the pandemic has only further shown how important health and being connected to one another is.”

Joyance Partners is the first venture fund focused on finding and growing new companies that deliver Delightful Moments derived from science – a new, transformative cycle of human experience that we see as one of the greatest investment opportunities in decades.

We are particularly interested in investing in AI as well as Neurotech. Both sectors are a fast growing market with record funding in 2020 that we expect to grow in the coming year. This makes IDUN Technologies being a real fit with our investment hypothesis.

For us, we invested quite early on in IDUN. At that time, we were, and continue to be, impressed with the attitude, capabilities, and perseverance of the team. Second, sleep is a huge area in the market. Given the impact sleep can have on an individual’s well-being, there is a lot of research being conducted, as well as a demand from consumers and companies, to help improve sleep quality. We recognize the immediate applications of IDUN’s unique and highly innovative technology, and we look forward to seeing how it evolves.

In the next couple of years, the biggest challenge will be to find the right price point that will allow both large companies as well as consumers to spend their money. This isn’t too difficult, but good customer analysis will be required here to understand the issue better.

In our sense, the Internet of Humans is incredibly intriguing. Connecting individuals, as well as using tech to allow humans to understand themselves better to drive improved health ‘and happiness,’ is the ethos of our fund. This immediately resonated with us, and the pandemic has only further shown how important health and being connected to one another is. The potential for this idea growing into parallel industries previously not looked at is quite promising, e.g., automotive implementation.

Over the 5-10 years, we would like to see IDUN’s technology being applied to multiple sectors from health to consumer. Sleep affects each and every person, no matter what industry they are in, or if they simply want to improve sleep quality for improved quality of life. We would like to see IDUN as the gold standard for sleep technology and look forward to hearing of future successes of the company.
